Company structure

In the year 1988 the company dekora was founded by the artist and restorer Astrid Wuehrl. Numerous living spaces and business premises received a new appearance created by dekora. Furthermore dekora restored historic buildings, locks and churches.


Work philosophy

The long-term experience in preservation provides a confident selection of special techniques. The approach is based on traditional painting techniques. In co-operation with the customer and the architect in charge the company provides an aesthetic and artistic overall solution for the particular task.

Astrid Wuehrl co-operates with various highly qualified interior area specialists. The experienced team can react highly flexible respective to the particular demands and time frames.

The company dekora is used to providing these highly challenging standards and satisfying customers by delivering first class quality.

Astrid Wührl

Astrid Wührl is a professional Interior Designer and Master of historic painting. She has won serveral honours in Europe during her past 20 years experience.

1981 graduated with honours from college of applied sciences

1986 recieved Master title of historical painting

1988 recieved title of certified restaurateur of hisoric art and cultural history by the Munich chamber of craftsmenship

1990 Course on the analysis of historic painting material in Horn (Austria) held by Prof. Dr. Hans Schramm, Dresden

1992 guest auditor at the University of Art and Historical Paintings, Dresden,
in the faculty humanities, in a course of art-technology studies, preservation and restoration of art and objects of cultural value

1996 Granted membership of the „Verband der deutschen Restauratoren (VdR) ("Association of German Restorers"), annual participation in specialists’ lectures of the VdR

1999 Participation in a seminar entitled „Current Preparations and Methods for the Preservation and Restoration of Mural Paintings” given by Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Jägers und Dr. Jägers

2001 Correspondence degree course at the Open University of Hagen. Course of studies, Restoration
